Women’s Guild Hosts Fundraiser for Flower Arrangement While No Lunch
In the absence of their annual lunch, the Owensboro Women’s Guild is hosting a flower arrangement fundraiser next week. In addition to the flower arrangements donated, the guild will also sell their sweet tea.
This is the second year in a row that the guild has had to cancel the lunch.
“The Lunch and Women’s Guild was kind of known for a lot of different things, but one of the main things we’re known for is the gorgeous flower arrangements typically displayed in homes at lunch,” said Katie Drab. , member of the guild.
The fundraiser is scheduled for May 12-13 and will be held at the First Presbyterian Church under the covered back pavilion.
Two sizes of flower arrangements, including the vase, will be available – a small for $ 15 and a large for $ 25.
Orders will be placed by email to [email protected] Once orders have been received, a confirmation email will be sent to you confirming receipt of the order. The guild will accept payment via Venmo in advance or in cash upon pickup.
Pickup will be from the First Presbyterian Church from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday or Thursday. Delivery will be available only on request.
A “Women’s Guild tea stand” has also been set up. The guild will offer a glass of tea to anyone who purchases a flower arrangement and sell ½ gallon jugs for $ 5 each.
In addition to selling flower arrangements, Katie Lowing very graciously offered to sell her artwork, with the proceeds going to the guild. The guild will post photos on social media and also have a table at the event with their works on display. Artworks will be priced at $ 75 each, while supplies last.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the community at a local nonprofit, although Drab said the recipient will not be chosen until later this year.
