Why this florist cafe in Tempe is the perfect destination for a coffee date
Walk into this romantic cafe for a coffee and you’ll probably end up walking away with flowers. Visit the store when you need a bouquet and you’ll no doubt walk away with a coffee in hand. And that’s kind of the point.
Jasmine Jo and Rowan Tree is a dual-concept cafe and florist, with locations in Ahwatukee and Tempe.
At the Tempe store, the cafe tables are decorated with vases of fresh flowers. A chandelier of dried bouquets hangs from the ceiling, and a flower bar, full of brightly colored flowers, offers guests the chance to select exactly the individual flowers they want to use to create a bouquet.
The one-stop-shop is perhaps the ultimate coffee go-to.

What’s on the menu at Jasmine Jo?
Jasmine Jo serves a wide menu of hot and iced coffees, teas, pastries and snacks. Many drinks are inspired by floral flavors, including the bride’s dress, made with white chocolate and topped with lavender. Small purple flowers add a sweet fragrance to every sip.
The shop also often creates special menus for the seasons. During the month of February, a Valentine’s Day menu is available. Operations manager Tiffany Serrano prefers the almond Nutella latte, but also recommends the creme de cacao and cherry coffee.
In addition to coffee and flowers, customers can add a fun pair of handmade wins, scented soap, or tote bag to their purchase. And all of the teas, beverage ingredients and gifts for sale throughout the store are sourced locally from Arizona growers, Serrano said.

Custom Flowers at Rowan Tree
At the Rowan Tree Flower Bar, flowers are displayed by color and type in large black buckets. Customers can work with the florist to pick the flowers they like, adding individual stems to their bouquets and arrangements.
However, around holidays like Valentine’s Day, one of the busiest days of the year for florists, things work a little differently.
For a specific floral arrangement, Serrano recommends customers order online.
For customers wishing to enter, the boutique will be fully stocked with roses sold by the dozen and colorful assorted packaging, she said.
The wraps, which are pre-made and tied in brown paper, are available at three price points: $30, $45 and $55, depending on size and flower types.
Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday this year, so Serrano said the store is preparing for a busy weekend. And with the Super Bowl taking place on Sunday, Feb. 13, she’s expecting plenty of coffee dates Friday and Saturday. Monday, she said, will likely be full of deliveries.
Whether it’s to spoil someone or treat yourself, the coffee and flowers of Jasmine Jo and Rowan Tree make the perfect pair.
