VIJAYAWADA: With many reputable government departments and companies setting up their offices in the state capital, the demand for flower bouquets is on the rise and florists are busy proving their creativity based on customer preferences.
Representatives of various companies and officials place orders for guests from Singapore, Thailand, China, Japan and other countries.
Ferns and Petals, who recently set up their franchise in Vijayawada, has brought new varieties of bouquets and bunches for weddings, birthdays, inauguration ceremonies and festivals.
“We make custom bouquets with colorful roses, lilies, gerberas, daisies, tulips, orchids and carnations. The flowers are imported from Ooty with the necessary preservation methods, ”said P. Srilatha, authorized franchisee of Ferns N Petals (FNP).
Customers can order online or go directly to the store. The flowers are supplied in vases, baskets, boxes, bouquets and potted arrangements embellished with stems, leaves, vines, colored paper, jute wrappers and bamboo sticks. The manufacture of the lot would depend on the occasion the customer ordered, she said.
“FNP delivered over 200 orders during the New Year celebrations. Now we are getting ready for Sankranti and Valentine’s Day. Customers from Guntur, East and West Godavari districts have placed orders for different varieties for the New Year. The cost of the bouquets varies between Rs. 100 and Rs. 5,000 and more, ”said florist Poran Das The Hindu.
“Bouquets of yellow, pink, red and black roses are the most sought after. The demand for bouquets decorated with chocolates, cakes, toys, teddy bears and electric lamps is high, ”Ms. Srilatha said.
