Plymouth’s ‘eco-friendly florist’ delivers bouquets on her new e-bike
Customers called the latest addition “brilliant”. It even has a nice little basket in the back to carry the flowers.
Plymouth’s new ‘eco-friendly florist’ has started using an e-bike to deliver her beautiful, handcrafted flower bouquets to customers. Honey ‘B’ Florist owner Suzanne Doidge has run the local business for almost 19 years and is well known in the area.
Suzanne, 52, wanted to become more eco-friendly in her florist business and so decided to buy an e-bike. It even has a cute little basket in the back to carry the flowers.
She owned a local boutique in St Judes for 15 years and has worked from home for five years creating beautiful floral arrangements for all occasions. Now, with her new eco-friendly delivery service, she told us customers think it’s a “brilliant” idea.

Suzanne also told us that when she was riding her bike, people in cars beeped and waved at her as they passed. She said she would always ring her bell and described it as a nice feeling. The latest addition of Honey ‘B’ Florist means Suzanne can deliver around Plymstock and Elberton at the moment, but hopes to expand further.
Suzanne said: “Honey B Florist has been around for almost 19 years. I had a store in St Judes some time ago for 15 years and for the past five years I have been working in the Elberton area from home and semi- retirement.
“The newest thing is my e-bike. I thought I’d start using it to be the green florist. It’s awesome. It’s really good and I’ve had lots of good feedback from everyone , not a negative. It was really fun to go out and beep everyone with my little bell.
“Some customers are really surprised when they see me stop on my bike and say ‘oh it’s you’ and that’s a brilliant idea. It all went really well.”
Talking about why Suzanne wanted to use an e-bike rather than another means of transport, she said: “I wanted to be more eco-friendly, more efficient. I wanted to have an e-van, but they are impossible to buy for the moment, so I thought I’d start with a bike. But even with extra fuel costs, it gets to astronomical prices. So I thought, with local deliveries, I can easily do it on the bike. , which reduces costs and is good for the environment.
