Pam’s Blooms, Carson City’s Newest ‘Flower Shop on Wheels’ Brings Fresh Flowers in Style | Carson City Nevada News

When Pam Karg moved to Carson City three years ago from Georgia, she first pursued her teaching career and became a local kindergarten teacher. However, she soon discovers her second passion: flowers.

What started as a hobby turned into a career with Pam’s Blooms, Carson City’s newest “Flower Shop on Wheels”, which operates as a full-service mobile florist.

“I can provide day-to-day flowers for individuals or businesses, as well as flowers for special events including weddings, funerals and corporate events,” said Karg. “I am proud to be able to offer the freshest flowers in Carson City. I have put a lot of effort into figuring out how to get as close as possible to the grower in the flower supply chain.

Pam’s Blooms can be spotted in various locations around Carson City and the surrounding area with its large purple flower truck, which is decorated like a garden with a white picket fence and sliding farmhouse windows.

“It’s eye-catching and adorable,” Karg said. “The truck is really like a florist on wheels. It has a nice workspace, a full-size flower cooler, interior lights, and running water. It’s a great addition to my business, allowing me to do remote venues for any type of event.

Karg bought the flower truck a little over a year ago and got to work. She is about to graduate from the Floral Design Institute in Oregon, where she has completed her basic and advanced floral design courses and will soon be certified as a certified floral designer.

“My former teaching career and my previous career in retail prepared me for the hard work it takes to own your own business,” said Karg. “I think the same characteristics that made me good at these jobs will also come in very handy for owning my own business. I love to learn, I am motivated, passionate and creative. I am not afraid to take a risk and I am a people oriented person. Above all, I love to be my own boss on my new adventure.

Pam’s Blooms can be found at Aunt B’s 2, located at 110 S. Curry Street, during the Carson City Wine Walk each month, as well as on social media such as Facebook and Instagram. You can also find Pam’s Blooms at www.pamsblooms.com

“I’m open daily and customers can call me to have flowers delivered for any occasion,” Karg said. “I will deliver anywhere in Carson City as well as the surrounding areas, including around Lake Tahoe. In addition to fresh flowers, I can make silk arrangements for your home or business.
