Milton’s mom gives away as many bouquets of flowers as she sells – Boston 25 News

MILTON, Mass. – Flowers are blooming and business is booming for Jenn DeBarge Goonan as she prepares Valentine’s Day arrangements in her kitchen. “I like flowers that you don’t usually find in grocery stores, for example. I like unique flowers and then creating arrangements that are a little different,” she said.

The mum-of-three from Milton, who works full time, started a part-time flower business from her home last year. It’s called Bravo to the flowers. Jenn says it helped her through those tough times. “I really started gardening and floriculture because of the pandemic. I really needed a way to channel all the anxiety into a creative outlet,” Jenn said.

This creative outlet transformed his family’s garden. Right now it’s covered in snow, so she’s using flowers from the Boston and Chelsea flower markets, but in the summer there will be beautiful flower beds. In the fall, Jenn planted over a thousand tulips. When they bloom, many of them will be given away for free. “Everyone has their own way of giving in the world and my way of doing is to grow and then give flowers to those I love and also to those who may need a bright spot in their day,” he said. she declared.

Jenn lights up the lives of many people. For every bouquet she sells, she donates it to a local hospice or senior center, including the Winter Valley Residences in Milton. “Last year I gave away about 200 free bouquets and I hope to make 400 arrangements this year, which will trigger 400 free flower donations to those in need,” she said.

Jenn has already delivered flowers to seniors and plans to deliver more next week. Her next big event will be Mother’s Day.
