Kristy Clanton has run Kyle Flower Shop for three years, but has been in the flower industry for almost two decades. It should be noted that the Bunton Creek Road florist recently won the Town of Kyle’s Excellence in Commerce award for Small Business of the Year.
“I left the company to enter this world of flowers. I just wanted to be closer to my children and be an entrepreneur; I think it’s the American dream, ”she said.
She first purchased Wimberley Flower Shop in July 2004 and said she had found her ultimate passion. Four years later, she started Wow Factor Floral, a division of her business specializing in weddings. Clanton and his team got to work before Dripping Springs became the wedding capital of Texas, and they’ve kept busy ever since.
They’re back to serving the community from Kyle’s storefront, and customers can shop right from the coolers full of flowers and can watch a bunch of flowers turn into a bouquet for whatever the occasion.
“I think it’s pretty special for a lot of our customers to see it built and designed,” Clanton said. “Part of the fun of walking into a place like this is being able to pick your flowers; we accentuate them with things that will really complete the bouquet; and you can actually watch us create the design for you.
