Local florist in good shape despite ongoing flower shortage

Flowers are a great last minute Valentine’s Day gift. Despite an ongoing flower shortage, there are plenty of places to find a bouquet on Valentine’s Day. If the holidays have snuck up on you, Robben Florist and Garden Center in Delhi is one of the many local places that will be busy making those arrangements. Kimberly King, retail manager and events coordinator at the florist, said the store had to order Valentine’s Day flowers the week after Christmas to ensure on-time delivery. Due to their advanced planning, King explained that they were in good shape this holiday. It’s always a busy time of year for them. King said, “It’s a little crazy. But we got a little behind in January, but February is getting us ready for Valentine’s Day. Five days before Valentine’s Day, we’re doing our prep work.” When the flowers arrive at the store, the stems are cut. They soak in buckets of hydration for a few hours, then they go to the cooler. After that, they are made into arrangements. Although it would have been better to order your flowers ahead of time, King said you can still request a walk-in.
