Any sign of appreciation is nice to give your mom on her special day, but if you want to go the extra mile this year, try this super simple teacup arrangement.

Tracing an extra piece of porcelain or your mother’s favorite tea motif is a great idea. Combine it with fresh flowers for a lovely first impression.

Materials

1 block of wet floral foam (available at grocery stores and flower shops)
Sharp knife or floral scissors
Assorted flowers
Thread or elastic band
Tea cup and saucer
Wet green floral ribbon (optional)

Soak the floral foam 30 minutes in advance.

Once it is completely saturated, cut a small piece to fit in the tea cup. At this point, you can secure the foam with green floral tape if you want.

Cut your flower stems, leaving about 2.5 centimeters on each stem. Start by inserting the larger flowers at the head, then follow the smaller ones. Fill the entire dome-shaped teacup and add water. Place the cup on the saucer and leave it in a cool, dry place until you are ready to give it to the recipient.

This arrangement only takes a few minutes to put together and will last about a week if properly watered.
