Helensburgh Flowers: Good Florist Guide includes West Princes Street businesses in latest list

All is rosy for a Helensburgh florist after being crowned one of the best in the UK.

Helensburgh Flowers has renewed its membership in the exclusive Good Florist Guide for 2022/2023.

The merit-based guide is considered the gold standard of floristry and is recognized as the “little black book” of British and Irish florists.

Owner Denise Murphy was introduced to the craft at an early age in her grandmother Anastasia’s flower shop in Dublin.

She moved to Scotland and set up the West Princes Street store, with over 20 years of trading under her belt.

Denise said: “We are delighted to be accepted into The Good Florist Guide again.

“We are passionate about the flowers, the design, the quality and the service we provide to each of our customers, so it’s great to have that recognized.

“What’s special about our business is how much we love our industry and flowers in general. We pride ourselves on our floral style and the standard we set in the industry. »

The store had to go through a rigorous evaluation process before being approved the first time around and was re-evaluated before being asked to re-list.

All florists included in the guide must ensure that every part of their business looks as good as the flowers, right down to the delivery vehicle.

Caroline Marshall-Foster, Managing Director of The Good Florist Guide, said, “You can buy flowers pretty much anywhere these days.

“But nothing really beats the experience of receiving fabulous flowers from a truly bespoke florist and without costing an arm or a leg.

“The Good Florist’s Guide is my way of sharing all that is good about floristry. This lets consumers know that the florist they use is able and willing to go the extra mile and make all of their purchases, big or small, truly special.
