HEB donates 4,500 bouquets of flowers to military wives in Texas

The Operation HEB Appreciation Program distributed bouquets of flowers to military spouses at military bases and at community events across Texas.

May 6 is National Military Spouse Appreciation Day. HEB celebrated by distributing 4,500 bouquets to military spouses across Texas.

HE-B’s Operation Appreciation program, which focuses on military and veteran families, has celebrated the holiday every year since its inception in 1984 by President Ronald Regan, according to the supermarket chain.

HEB is not shy about giving back and supporting its military and veteran families. The Operation Appreciation program also created annual giving drives to raise money for homes and nonprofits serving the military, including the Military Child Education Coalition, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, and the United Service. Organizations, as stated by the grocery chain.

The program has also provided more than $10 million in support to dozens of Texas military-based nonprofits, as well as creating opportunities for mortgage-free homes for seriously injured veterans.

Through its Operation Appreciation program, the popular Texas grocery chain has hired thousands of veterans and active military personnel, including their families, as HEB said.
