East Los Angeles florist has a big surprise

EAST LOS ANGELES (KABC) – It’s Hispanic Heritage Month, and SoCal Honda dealers have once again partnered with ABC7 to offer random acts of help. The recipient is Martha Jimenez, owner of Alisol Flowers in East LA

This longtime florist sits on Cesar Chavez Avenue, right in the heart of the famous East LA Parade Route, which celebrates Mexico’s Independence Day.

Like many other small businesses in the region, Alisol Flowers has been hit hard by the pandemic. With the parade on hold for its second year due to the coronavirus, SoCal Honda dealers surprised Martha and her family by paying a month’s rent and donating gifts that she can use for the community at her Posadas celebration.

Las Posadas is a religious celebration honoring the birth of the baby Jesus and is a tradition that can be found in many Mexican homes.

“She is a very beautiful person, and I know the community, they see it. Because every time they come to my mother, they are always very grateful for everything she does”, explains the girl. by Martha, Nubia Jimenez. “And I think she does it with her heart, because she knows how bad the fight is.”
