Countryside Flower Shop organizes a ribbon cutting for a cut flower garden

On Friday, July 8, the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Crystal Lake, Barrington Area and Huntley Area Chambers of Commerce, co-hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Katherine and Bill Hameder Coupe Garden at Countryside Flower Shop, Nursery & Garden Center, 5301 E. Terra Cotta Ave. at Crystal Lake.

Countryside Flower Shop has been part of the community for over 61 years. Current owners Johannes Pieterse (JP) and Brent Troost purchased Countryside in the fall of 2020. The Cut Garden is their most recent expansion, taking advantage of the abundance of growing area their 28-acre property presents in Crystal Lake.

Named after the original owners, Katherine and Bill Hameder, the Cut Garden gives the customer the opportunity to have the freshest flowers possible by selecting and cutting their own stems from the garden.

“We are excited to continue the legacy of growing and providing quality plants and services to the community,” said owner Brent Troost. “The Cut Garden is a perfect extension of the country feeling our customers get when they know they have the best, freshest flowers available.”
